Have you ever thought about who you are? I mean who you really are? Are you the body you see every day in a mirror? Of course you’re not. Your body is constantly changing. It is different now than ten or twenty years ago. According to some scientists cells in our bodies are constantly replaced by newer ones. Although the scientists differ in their opinions, most of them agree that every seven years we have a completely new body. Not even one cell is the same. So, no. You are not your body.
Are you your mind? You can observe your own mind. You are aware of your thoughts. Maybe you are reading this article now, but you’re thinking about something else? You can clearly see your mind working, so no, you are not your mind either. But…your mind’s constant chatter is having a greater impact on who you really are than you probably realize.
Throughout the day our minds are constantly playing different films for us. Try as we might, it is not easy to stop these mind movies. Experts estimate that our minds think between 20,000 – 70,000 thoughts a day. That’s an average of 833 – 3,000 thoughts per hour. And, according to the National Science Foundation, 75% of those thoughts are negative and 90% are repetitive!
Can you even conceptualize that? In a 24 hour day, scientists say that over 19 hours are spent on negative thoughts!
- I know I’ll be late
- I’m not good enough for that position
- I can’t do it
- I’m not smart enough
And the worst of them all – the worst case scenario. This is the act of creating a negative, doomsday scenario when you’re faced with challenges. Another name for it is worry. Yes, worry is a form of visualization!
I have news for you: all of these mind movies are the basis of your manifestations!
The dictionary describes a manifestation as an event, action, or object that clearly shows or embodies something, especially a theory or an abstract idea.
The Law Of Attraction describes a manifestation as the collaboration of your thoughts and desires with the Universe to bring those thoughts and desires onto the physical plane. Like any other law, it works whether you are conscious of it or not.
What do you think about most every day?
If you are like most people you think about your past or your future. Our past memories can be happy or sad, but the past is the past. It’s gone. The future is unknown, but we have a hand in creating our future with our thoughts. Whatever we are thinking about now will manifest in the future. So if we think about our problems, lack of money, and difficult situations, our future will reflect problems, lack of money and difficult situations!
Look at your life. Are you in a fulfilling relationship? What thoughts did you have that brought you this relationship? Maybe “I’ll never do better than him.” Or “My biological clock is ticking so I’d better say yes.” What about “All my girlfriends are married and I don’t want to become an Old Maid.” Any of these ring a bell?
What about your job? Are you in a dead end job that you hate going to? Why do you continue to go? Because it’s a guaranteed paycheck? Because your friends work there? Because you’re afraid to find out what you’re really capable of?
These situations will not change themselves! It’s up to you to visualize the life that you want. And that starts with your thoughts.
Have you ever tried to control your thoughts? Believe me, it’s easier said than done. Try it for yourself: for five minutes, try to concentrate on something. Let’s say visualize a yellow triangle. Do not think about anything else. Just concentrate on the yellow triangle. Can you do it? Notice how many times your mind wanders and thinks about something other than the yellow triangle.
It’s very difficult to control a mind. Usually our minds control us.
This is where affirmations come in. When you have an affirmation in your mind, it quiets the negative chatter and keeps your mind on the great, passionate relationship and the exciting, thriving career.
The beauty of the Law Of Attraction is that it’s never too late to start! You can begin now to think about the relationship that you really want. You can begin now to prepare for the job that you deserve.
Just try it. Try to really visualize your perfect life. Don’t think about your past. Don’t think about your future. Think about right now and be grateful for it. If your visualization is strong, you will feel happy and excited. You will feel good, but more importantly, you will have started creating your ideal future reality.
Of course, you need to train your mind to do this every day. Remember, controlling your thoughts takes practice, but great things don’t come easily. This is why so many people don’t live the lives of their dreams. They don’t control their thoughts and consequently, they don’t control their lives. They live their lives on autopilot.
This doesn’t have to be you! You can be happy, healthy and wealthy. You just need to make the effort.
