It’s been almost a year since I started www.pleasures4evermore.com. I am deeply grateful that you have chosen to share my journey, leave comments, like and follow my Facebook page, and otherwise support this goal of mine. My intention when I started was to just jot down my thoughts and mostly encourage myself. But as I read and wrote and listened to feedback, it became clear that there are so many others like me who want to live a fuller life – who believe Jesus when He said “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10b)
While the primary theme of the site remains how to improve yourself and your life with the Law of Attraction; instead of writing just for myself, I now write like I’m writing a to my dearest girlfriend. I hope this has resonated with you! As I learn new concepts and have ah-ha moments, I share them. To be clear, there is nothing new in the Law of Attraction, but depending on when and how and where and by whom you were raised, this information may be completely new to you, just as it was for me a few years ago.
As I’ve thought about you in my writing over the past several months, I hope that I’ve been able to fuel the flame of your dreams. What is it that you want to do? Have you taken daily steps towards it? If not, how long have you been putting off your big dream? More importantly, how much longer are you going to settle for less than your best life?
I had an ah-ha moment a while ago: If you can conceive it and believe it, you can achieve it! Now, that’s not an original quote, but think about it: God put something in you, so He must have a way for it to come to pass! I used to want to be an astronaut. I LOVE SPACE more than any self-proclaimed space geek, but….I am afraid of heights and truthfully, I’m afraid of the dark. Space encompasses both of those things. Astronaut was quickly removed from my list of career choices.
On the other hand, I am also passionate about helping people and making others happy. Unlike an anxiety filled career in space travel, hospitality comes naturally to me. Most of my careers have been in hospitality or customer service in some capacity. And that’s where I have thrived. I go the extra mile for customer satisfaction and am generally left to self-manage by my supervisors because of this work ethic. Whether working at the airport, in fast food restaurants, banks, or on this blog, I experience genuine happiness knowing that I’m helping others.
God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. (Hebrews 6:10)
So I ask you again: what is it that you are passionate about? What is holding you back? If you’ve had the same dream for years, God is calling you to it! Answer Him! Remember, God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
Consider others that God has called and qualified:
Jacob was a cheater (Genesis 27)
Peter had a temper (John 18:10)
David had an affair (2 Samuel 11)
Noah got drunk (Genesis 9: 20-23)
Jonah ran from God (Jonah 1)
Paul was a murderer (Acts 9: 1-31)
Gideon was insecure (Judges 6: 13-40)
Miriam was a gossip (Numbers 12)
Martha was a worrier (Luke 10: 38-42)
Thomas was a doubter (John 20: 24-29)
Sara was impatient (Genesis 16: 1-6)
Elijah was suicidal (1 Kings 19: 3-4)
Moses stuttered (Exodus 4: 10-13)
Zacchaeus was short (Luke 19: 1-9)
Abraham was old (Genesis 21: 1-7)
Lazarus was dead (John 11: 38-44)
Look at this list! If you met people with these characteristics today, would you think that they were destined for success? God gave each of them a dream just like He gave you. He gave each of them a way to manifest their dreams just like He will do for you. You just have to remember that you can do it, and more importantly, that you deserve it!
